The Knight Foundation is offering matching funds to non-profit journalism organizations in their campaign called Knight News Match. Fifty-seven organizations have been selected to receive up to $25,000 per individual organization with a total donation up to $1.5 million.
The Knight #newsmatch has been set up to continue the legacy of Knight Foundation’s founders, John S. and James L. Knight, who believed that informed and engaged communities are essential to a healthy democracy.
It is nice to see there are several organizations in Michigan who are up for getting matching funds, including MichiganRadio, BridgeMagazine, Detroit Public TV, and local to Grand Rapids – TheRapidian.
The deadline for you to make a donation that qualifies for the Knight Newsmatch is January 19, 2017. A list of the participating organizations which are linked to their donation pages can be found at the Knight Newsmatch web page.
